Error: Problems with Polygons

A common issue with a polygon geometry happens when one of its boundaries, encoded as a <LinearRing> element, intersects itself. Such a polygon will be less interoperable with mapping software that requires topologically correct polygons.

If there is both an outer boundary and one or more inner boundaries, none of them should cross each other, but they may touch at a single point.

Review each set of <LinearRing> coordinates to make sure that the ring does not cross itself at any point. In addition, if there are both inner and outer <LinearRing> elements, ensure that these do not cross each other either.
