Error: Incorrect or Unknown Namespace

An unknown namespace would be one who's elements belong to a namespace other than that of KML or one of its dependent namespaces (such as Atom).

An incorrect namespace could be caused by using the namespace from an earlier version of the KML specification, such as that of Google KML 2.1 or 2.2.

Similar to having a missing namespace, if the KML file has a namespace that is something other than the namespace for the current version of the OGC KML Standard, that namespace will be replaced with the correct one before the file is validated.

Make sure that the namespace for the latest version of the OGC KML Standard is being used.

At a minimum, update the KML namespace to "".

Note that if updating a Google KML 2.1 or 2.2 file to OGC KML 2.2 by changing the namespace, there may be additional migration tasks to implement; for example: assuring the correct <LookAt> element order or replacing deprecated elements with their newer counterparts. These issues will show up in the report once the namespace error is fixed.
